There is a fine line between genius and madness;Steve Jobs can tell you better. If you're a genius and are in Nigeria, there are reasons why you may want to die unless you try understanding a few things about us. First is the mindset that everyone understands you have better plans for this nation and the future. Wrong! We don't understand you,in fact,we feel you insult us with your knowledge and expertise;so we will do everything to make sure you don't succeed. So when we do this, you don't understand why we're just so myopic and gullible. Well, the truth is that we're not matured enough...no...the real truth is that we feel maturity comes with AGE...that's why we have old people, old people and old people running our affairs incompetently. That is Nigeria for you dear genius, are you planning to run away to another country?
More to that,we hate it when you come around and present your master plan to turn Nigeria to America...seriously? We won't believe you oooo. We take joy in hoping that the future will be better;a future we are not even ready to work hard for. So you see, when we see you've put in all efforts to be better,we will simply kill your dreams. And the most annoying is that you're even young;we have been in this system since 1960 and we have sworn never to change. Perhaps this will help you to understand why many people make a name for themselves outside the country before coming back. And please dear genius;I hope you're not planning to leave us in this darkness?
Dear genius,if you've taken out time to study the mindset and behaviour of fellow Nigerians, you'll quickly realise that we don't make much effort to improve on what we know...but I must add that we want to remain relevant in that field till we die. Don't cry for us,that is why a Professor of Physics will proudly announce to you that he has never read any physics text in the last 10 ten years. He lectures in the university and never enters his classes with any book...I must also tell you that his students think he is so intelligent when he does this. You're seated in the class as his student and you don't comprehend why this man has to confuse you with old laws...bear with him;this is Nigeria. We hope to get better...but you as a genius, must develop your talents on a green fertile land;Nigeria may be or may not be the place. We hope!
Finally brother genius, don't get mad at us,we're mostly businessmen, educated illiterates and proud misguided individuals. We hate being corrected! I repeat,we hate it!! We will surely attack your personality when you do...try becoming a politician or celebrity and understand what I mean...celebrity? Those ones are apologies to the nation. We shall continue to work hard and hope in Nigeria dear friend, till we get to the Promised Land,I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.

APGA BEWARE OF GOVERNOR PETER OBI...BEWARE
APGA BEWARE OF PETER OBI...BEWARE!!!
APGA BEWARE OF PETER OBI...BEWARE!!!
Foremost, I am a devoted fan of APGA, hence, prejudice is exempted from
my point of view. the the electoral crinkrum-crankrum invoke, one can
see without much effort the political enmity amidst people who are from
different political parties and rivals who share a divergent ideology.
Amidst all these, one can visibly see that the handshake between
Governor Peter Obi and President Goodluck Jonathan is way past the
elbow. i smell a hidden propaganda, I feel a fishy political undertone.
COULD THERE BE A BACKGROUND ALLIANCE BETWEEN THE POLITICAL LORDS? IS
PETER SHOW-CASING WILLIE OBIANO AS A TROJAN GIFT? APGA may still get my
vote, but while we watch, i still pray thee...BEWARE: no brother in the
jungle.

LETTER TO THE STREET GUY BY MARTIN BECK NWORAH
Dear Guy,
Sorry for putting the "dear" because I know it is quite uncommon to hear such words at the motor parks, that uncompleted building inside the bush, the mama elegushi pot or shisha bus stop. My name is a guy who is concerned about your future. You see my brother,I understand that your family have abandoned you and written you off;that's why you found solace in the streets and joined the band wagon. You smoke to forget your pains and sorrows, but does it really go away? You fight and gym to show you've become a man, but is that really the true definition of a man?
It is true life deals us hard blows at some point in our life's journey;but we must pick up the pieces and continue. You've been labelled restive and a street tout, hence you find your office complex at the motor parks. You have no money to 'chyke' ladies so you rape our little darlings. I understand your fears in life and that is why you don't want to confront them. Each time we tried helping you, you'll spend the money and continue pouring aspersions on everyone. You believe life is a jungle and that is what it really is. But the way you're going about surviving in this jungle is really not the best. You listen to Phyno's songs and say that he understands your plight. He does, and that's why he packaged himself and makes money with it...you too can.
Where you are now is not the best. Throw away that one wrapper and convince yourself you can succeed through the right way. You may not have the brain to study, but I know you have the strength to work. Think about your future and make it count while there is still time. You will succeed, and when we get to the Promised Land, you'll pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.

AND WORLD BANK SAID... BY MARTIN BECK NWORAH
In a recent meeting at Enugu State Nigeria, the World Bank stated that about 100 million Nigerians live in abject poverty;surviving below 1.25 dollars per day. Silence! Nigeria is estimated to have 160 million persons in population and generates an annual GDP of about 262.61 billion dollars(2012 quoted). Now let us revisit the statement by World Bank again and I dare to ask; is there any reason why that alarming number of people should be poor in this country? I don't know. But what I'm very sure of,is that these adults MUST answer to us here on earth;or to the supernatural in the after life.
Does it not bother you? We make so much money and generate wealth in this country, yet the greater percentage of people are suffering in poverty, ignorance and gullibility. Travel to Anambra State and see how politicians are sharing money like crusade flyers. Why didn't they bring out these resources before now? I weep for the young people like me who are persecuted everyday and have no one to speak for them. Those we trusted have put our trust to rust and we are just looking and hoping. Is there hope? I don't know.
I blame the adults for our problems, calamities and troubles. They are the gullible fellows who collect bribes and occupy positions. They're the educated illiterates who have sworn in their anger that once they hold power(or a little wealth),the whole nation will serve them. And what is the fate of the common man(whatever that may mean),he is wallowing in poverty. His people will not allow him to succeed because they know once he does, they'll not use him as a pawn in their chess game again. I weep most especially for my fellow youths who are yet to realize that these men are stealing our future. If the economy of Nigeria is buoyant like they said, why should 100 million people are wallowing in poverty? Even if the figures by the World Bank might have been exaggerated, its certainly not far from the truth.
You'll read this and keep quite because none of your own is affected. None of mine is affected as well, but when you witness the cries of the hopeless kids on the streets;you'll realize what great injustice we are doing to ourselves. Mind you,we all die around 70 or 80(for the lucky ones),let's see what happens to the empire you built with the blood of innocent individuals. Till we get to the Promised Land,I'll be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.

WHERE IS YOUR MISSING RIB?
-Odibe Felix I.
...And God made Adam fall into a deep sleep, he took one of
his ribs and made Eve (Gen. 3:21).
Last night, was the second, the first being the night of my
Eleventh birthday celebration, that i dreamt of finding my missing rib. The
funny aspect of my dreams was that the duo came in the same sequence. i would
be in the classroom (of course, in the dream), writing a poem, i would fall
asleep, and see myself searching for, and later finding my missing rib, who
would turn out to be CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE, and I myself transformed into CHINUA
ACHEBE (safe for his big glasses and wrinkles). Many interpretations had been
suggested from friends and foes alike, the funniest being that the
literature-goddess (whom i am , at least, NOT YET fit to unlace her sandals)
Chimamanda Adichie, might be my missing ribs. such contributors usually
recommend some dosage and admixture of special prayers from the book of psalms
and songs of Solomon. Another funny suggestion, given was that Chimamanda (or
was it Achebe?) might have tapped my talent. How would this be for i started
writing at the age of five (as the story told) and am not stopping. So, i try
to invite you, my brothers, in the fellowship of the pen, to share my own idea.
As for me, I see MISSING RIB as used in the bible, as an
aspect of our lives that we cannot do without: Talent, Vocation, hobby, family,
wife. per exemplum, right now, Anambra State is searching for her missing rib;
someone that will be a prerequisite for the infrastructural and human
develpoment. It is left for us all to provide it. There is no designated person
or thing marked with the title of Missing rib as most of our ladies mistake it
thus: " I AM SEARCHING FOR MY MR.RIGHT", why not grab the MR.LEFT and
drag him to the right? most of our young people let go of arying opportunites
while chasing a carreer already denoted as mouth-watering. my cousin, Cynthia
(not real name) would always get my lash whenever she says to my hearing that
she is designed by God to be an actress and a model and so should be exempted
for garden work (which, inspite of their wealth, their family adopt as weekend
exercise ritual). my locus is that, talent notwithstanding, we still have the
Onus of cultivating a personal culture. It is that process of cultivation, that
i qualify as searching for your missing Rib. If we sit down in foolery and
wait, nature will surely deal us a handsome blow and by the time we recover,
our counterparts might have found two or three ribs (theirs plus our own).
On this note, Philosophers, I ask you: HAVE YOU FOUND YOUR
MISSING RIB? WILL YOU REMAIN A JACK OF ALL TRADE AND MASTER OF NONE? can you
play the piano? Are you an intellectual inferno? You do not need my like on
facebook or a follow on twitter to know that my questions are for you. Like my
friend and brother, Martin Beck, we pray for grace for the race, strenght for
the length and I shall be waiting for when you pass me a glass of water
singing, EUREKA, I FOUND MY MISSING RIB.

JUST THINKING ALOUD...
My question is DID GOD REALLY REST ON THE 7TH DAY? DID GOD REALLY ABANDON US TO REST FOR A WHOLE DAY? IF YES, WHAT WAS SATAN DOING WHILE GOD RESTED?

ANAMBRARIANS, SHOULD WE GIVE OBI A THIRD TENURE?
Germinally, majority of Anambrarians believe that Governor Peter Obi has performed above average, at least in his integrated development. On this note, the four major competitors are heads-over-heels with each other. None believes the other has ever done anything good in their lives. Willie Obiano (APGA) is said to be a baby, while Governor Peter Obi is the baby-sitter, he also is accused of possessing more than one voter's card. Ifeanyi Ubah (capital Oil) whose company has been leased out is accused of doing so to fund his campaign, coupled with the fact that he is not educated to some extent. Chris Ngige is qualified as the smooth criminal. He is accused of harbouring sinister intentions, he is said not to be unconneted with the Anambra (UKE) stampede that claimed 28 lives and still counting. Andy Ubah, will sell the whole of Anambra State as he sold the Ikenga hotel....If all these people cannot be trusted, what then do we do? since majority trust the Obi administration, should we give him a third tenure through his god-son (Willie BOY)? Do we value continuity(OBIANO) or do we desire a radical change(NGIGE), should our state be business laden(IFEANYI UBAH) free kerosene in expense of education? Should we expect an international airport without good rooads (ANDY UBAH)...as for PDP, that the INEC tribune sent to Anambra by JEGA is PDP-laden, does not give us much concern about them untill they settle their internal fracas(UKACHUKWU vs NWOYE)>>>Anambra, shine thy eyes, its one week to go!!!!!!

UKE STAMPEDE: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY...
by Felix Ikechukwu Odibe
I had so much resisted the temptation of writing on the Uke stamped, at least, until I heard from the horse's mouth. But with the death toll soaring as high as 28 casualties and with a press conference from a revered source: Archbishop Valerian Okeke, I deem it the right time to raise my pen. The greatest dismay about the pathetic incident, is that people who are bearers of the story are either the group that were always at loggerheads with the authenticity of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry (the host ministry of the stampede) or people who saw no meaningful insight nor output of Governor Peter Obi's 8-year tenure. Hence, I cry foul with Francis Bacon, that reality (truth) keeps suffering more stampede from these individuals. The first treaty was that Gov. Peter Obi's thugs opened fire on the congregation because they supported Ngige, Chris (sen. Dr.) in absentia, when he (Gov. Peter Obi) was rattling out manifesto on behalf of his "god-son" Willie Obiano. The second version was that Senator Chris Ngige (having prior knowledge that APGA will be there), set up thugs to create a diversion, which resulted in the stampede. A third group (mainly non-catholics) cover the story up with a milieu of blame heaped on Rev.Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Ebube MuoNso) for inviting politicians to the adoration ground for his own personal gain (Fr.Obimma rejected a sum of 2million naira offered by Governor Peter Obi). With all these varities in circulation, one can hardly make any sense out of what really happened. As for me, God forbid that I lose the cool on my professional (journalism) ethics and project the political undertones that characterize the incident. if not, I would have asked: DID GOVERNOR OBI COME TO PRAY WITH OVER 1000 of APGA ENTOURAGE OR DID HE SIMPLY TURN THE HOUSE OF GOD INTO A POLITICAL ARENA? THE PEOPLE SHOUTING IN SUPPORT OF SEN. CHRIS NGIGE, THE BROOMS (symbol of APC) WHERE DID THEY COME FROM IF THE PLAN WAS NOT PRE-MEDITATED? DID FR. OBIMMA ENLIST BROOM AS AN ITEM OF WORSHIP FOR THE NIGHT? the answers to these questions cut accross the mere coatings of the incident. for Fr. Obimma, DID HE TELL THE HOLY GHOST BEFORE-HAND THAT APGA WAS COMING? OR IS THE STAMPEDE PART OF THE DIVINE DESIGN? like I said, I refrain from asking these questions as to avoid twisting reality more and more.
For Archbishop Valerian Okeke (as reported by to him by Fr. Obimma Emmanuel), the stampede was as a result of a false alarm raised by passers-by who cried FIRE!! FIRE!! as a result of an upsurge of the fire of an AKARA (bean cake) seller. Governor Peter Obi left the Arena around 3am, the stampede happened around 5.30am. furthermore, Sen. Chris Ngige was not in the adoration ground that fateful day. As of now, the death toll is still rising as casualties flock Crown hospital Nkpor, Borromeo hospital Onitsha and the rest of the surrounding health facilities. Sen. Ngige has offered the sum of 500,000 naira to these hospitals to care for the casualties. Governor Peter Obi has set up an investigation panel and Fr. Obimma who still remains elusive to media personnel is still in a 9-day novena prayer . The good side of the incident is that one can now see the extent political under-pinning work in our society and how distortful people can be of facts, as to attain their aim. As for the bad and the ugly....TO BE CONTINUED.

ON BEING YOUNG, MALE AND AFRICAN...
Many people do not know the burden of being young, male and African. Most often, the young African Male is portrayed as the fulfilled stock. people who fall under this category are expected to be strong, heavy-hearted and self-protective. These societal demands impose a heavy burden on the young African Male. per example, the African male, as young as he may be, is not expected to show any trait of fear or pain in haughty circumstances like the beatings that initiates one into the masquarade cult. Furthermore, the African male is burdened with the responsibility of catering for the female folk and hence, if it arises that two siblings who receive the same allowance from their parents go shopping, the male is expected to pay the bills of the female sibling. In case of any danger, whatsoever, the male child, his age or physical strength notwithstanding, is expected to fight of any witty challenge that pose as threat. Moreover, he is expected to be stronger than talking about the adolescence experience of waking up to find his bed wet or the simultaneous experience of falling in love or the pain of heartbreak or sickness. The male African is forbidden by the society from frail exposition of feelings. While stressing feminism, it rarely occurs to thinkers and writers that the male child may be a lonely boy in a world of his own.
Achebe, Chinualumogu, in his "Things Fall Apart", while stressing the strength and courage of Okonkwo failed to highlight his loneliness in exile, he did not portray Okonkwo's inner circles. Was he missing his wives? his children? after the murder of Ikemefuna, did he keep late-night cries within his chambers?
The tasks bequeathed to the male African is one too many, much like the situation of the muslim women who are expected to cover up everything; from their face deep down to their emotions.

Midnight cruisings: SECRETS OF A MUSLIM WOMAN
I dedicate my maiden blog to the muslim women.
Behind the faces heavily covered safe for the eyes, forceful marriage to old men who already have plenitude of wives, heavy extremist sharia laws, honour killings, has anyone given a thought on what goes on behind the physical appearance of these Muslim ladies. The WHITE WIDOW, the alleged mastermind of Kenyan mall attacks might be a case study here. Welcome to our world; let's use our brains to make Africa better.
